February Employee of the Month: Lance Duncan

Please join us in congratulating Lance Duncan for being selected as February’s Employee of the Month. Lance has been with DFG for four years. Lance has held a variety of positions with the company including Account Manager for Individual Benefits, Brokerage Assistant with the BGA and now Assistant Insurance Operations Manager.

During Lance’s time with Duncan, he has driven the development of many process-oriented initiatives in orientation and training, carrier appointments, licensing, data collection and reporting. Lance is currently tasked with a significant role in our implementation of the EPIC system. His nomination included the following: “He cares about the customer and making sure he follows through with the goals of his grandfather and family…”

When asked about his philosophy regarding work, Lance said, “Growing up, my family always embraced the spirit behind the saying ‘anything worth doing is worth doing right.’ My great-grandfather even had a favorite little joke he’d tell that embodied this ideal in reference to carpentry and paintwork he’d do around his neighborhood – “cut it twice and it’s still too short” – if you take your time to do something right the first time, you’ll save yourself a lot of headache on the backend. This is the philosophy I try to bring to my work at the company his son started – not only doing right by our customers, but all of the relationships our company has – with vendors, with our employees, with our communities, and with our neighbors.”
